Reptiland is more than a vivarium: it's an encounter. For over three decades, we have brought together the greatest diversity of reptiles on public display in France. Nile crocodiles, mambas, Gila monsters, reticulated pythons, matamatas — each species tells a story millions of years in the making.
Our mission: to demystify these fascinating animals, so long feared and misunderstood. Here, you will observe reptiles in conditions close to their natural habitat, in natural daylight, in a space designed for their wellbeing and your comfort.

Contrary to popular belief, a vivarium is not a stuffy, sweltering place. Our space is fully covered and climate-controlled: constant temperature, natural daylight, total comfort — even in the height of summer. Visit whatever the weather.
No dark corridors here. Our animals live in bright spaces that faithfully recreate their natural habitat. Step close, observe their behaviour and marvel at the richness of their colours and the fascinating detail of their scales.

Snakes are cold-blooded animals
They are poikilothermic and ectothermic: their body temperature depends on their environment. In a room at 30°C, they are at 30°C.
A vivarium is always stuffy and too hot
Reptiland is fully air-conditioned. You'll visit in comfort, even in summer. The heat is reserved for the terrariums, not the visitors.
Snakes "measure" their prey by lying alongside them
Not true: a snake pressing against you is simply looking for warmth (37°C — the best radiator around!). A persistent legend we love to bust.
Since 1990, Reptiland has been a family adventure. Born from François Gouygou's own phobia of snakes — transformed into passion — the park was devastated by a terrible fire in 2011, which opened a new chapter: Antoine took over and rebuilt, turning Reptiland into one of Europe's most committed vivariums. A story of expertise, perseverance and love of reptiles, told chapter by chapter.
